It is without a doubt one of the greatest tragedies of the asian world. The loss of culinary sensibility in the asian girl. What was once passed down through the generations as a sort of feminine glory is now dismissed by either laziness, poor parental guidance or construed feministic thought. Note the Or not And.
There is something wrong when 8 out of 10 asian guys can cook better than the average asian girl. Most of the guys I know can roast, stirfry, steam, deep fry, marinate, stew, and grill. Most girls can only…bake. Okay, but what’s the difference between baking and cooking? isn’t the former a subset of the latter? Hardly. Cooking feeds you. Baking fattens you. Cooking requires sensibility, instinct, and a creative palate while baking most often depends on a certain lady named Sarah Lee and a sweet tooth.
Which makes me very very appreciative when I meet a girl who can cook, or better yet, a girl who can cook with more variety, creativity, and cleanliness than the average asian male. To all the asian girls who are making their people proud, thank you, and Godspeed.
